Soprano Jessica Klein is already earning critical acclaim in her promising career. Of her recent summer portrayal as Giorgetta in Il Tabarro under Maestro Lorin Maazel, the Financial Times said, “excellent soprano, Jessica Klein, sings with lustrous, resonant voice.” She also recently sang the role of sang the role of Confidante in Elektra with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Maestro Charles Dutoit. Up next, she sings Helmwige in Seattle Opera’s 2013 production of the Ring Cycle.

Soprano Jessica Klein is already earning critical acclaim in her promising career. Up next, she sings Helmwige in Seattle Opera’s 2013 production of the Ring Cycle.

A 2009 Juilliard Opera Center graduate, Ms. Klein subsequently joined the Opera Theater of Saint Louis as a Gerdine Young Artist, covering the roles of Mimì in La bohème and Rosina in Ghost of Versailles. She also made her New York City Opera debut as Anna in Strauss’s Intermezzo, Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterflyand covered Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. With The Juilliard Opera Center, she performed Alice Ford in Falstaff, and Mrs. Gibbs in Ned Rorem’s Our Town. With the Chautauqua Institute in 2009, she performed Tatyana in Eugene Onegin.

Ms. Klein has sung in various concerts at Avery Fisher Hall: soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with Manhattan Youth Orchestra, Clorinda from Rossini’s Cenerentola for the Tucker Foundation Gala, and as the Confidant in Strauss’s Elektra. She also performed the role of Anna Maria in a concert version of Riccitelli’s I Compagnaccci with Teatro Grattacielo.

Ms. Klein was a semi-finalist in the Houston Grand Opera Competition, and the first place winner of the Bel Canto Competition of Chicago. She also went on to become the Grand Prize Winner of the Bel Canto Competition of Chicago, semi-finalist in the Belvedere Singing Competition, and won both the New York City District and Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Competition. In addition, she was a Finalist in the Jette Parker Young Artist Competition for the Covent Garden Opera House.
